Position Summary
The Foreman manages the daily site activities for earthwork and sewer & water utilities jobs by ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with safety, design, budget, and schedule. The Foreman manages lead personnel and staff on each project site.
Responsibilities
- Perform site grading for commercial, industrial, and development construction projects.
- Manage and supervise commercial grading jobsites.
- Communicate with Project Manager on scheduling, job needs and issues.
- Communicate with subcontractors in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specification, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Ability to make judgment calls in the field when needed.
- Ability to demonstrate a proactive, rather than reactive approach to the construction process.
- Establish a safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards and DEC rules and regulations.
- Assist with training and development of employees.
- Establish working relationships with employees, clients, and subcontractors.
- Communicate and schedule inspections and review results if necessary.
- Attend weekly foreman meetings.
Requirements
- Must be in Local 49ers
- Minimum 5 years of grading experience
- Minimum 1 year supervising grading crews
- Experience in commercial and industrial grading
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Safety awareness (OSHA, MMUTCD)
- Must posses a valid driver license and a clean driving record.
Other Requirements
